Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll surges past 1,000 with 20 more fatalities in the past 24 hours

Nepal on Tuesday reported 20 COVID-19-related fatalities taking the death toll to 1,004. The country also recorded 3,114 new cases, pushing the national infection tally to 179,614.

The number of active cases stands at 37,476 as 141,134 people have made successful recovery—3,142 of them in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,468 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,242 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 163 in Lalitpur and 63 in Bhaktapur.
