The Dahal-Nepal faction, a splinter group of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), has announced a general strike Thursday.

The faction called for the strike following the swear-in of the officials of the Constitutional bodies bypassing parliament hearing on Friday.

 The faction which had split from the party and filed a claim of the legitimacy of their faction in the Election Commission had been protesting against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
