Pakistan began the seventh edition of the multinational maritime exercise Aman-2021 on Friday. This year 45 nations are participating in the exercise.

Aman, a biennial exercise of the Pakistan Navy, brings regional and extra-regional navies for joint exercises aiming to make the seas safer for positive human activities.

During the opening ceremony, the Pakistan Navy chief, in his message, called the exercise a medium to develop doctrinal synergy to tackle maritime security challenges and enhance interoperability among navies at different pedestals of the technological prowess to come together and secure a sustainable maritime environment.

The navy also said that besides protecting the national interests in the Indian Ocean region, Pakistan also fulfills international obligations under the Regional Maritime Security Patrols.

Pakistan Navy thanked all the participating countries for coming together to achieve shared objectives.
