Giving credit to the government's timely decisions, Pakistan's Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said on Monday that cases and mortality rate in the second wave of COVID-19 had started to decline in the country.
“When the second wave accelerated we closed high-risk areas identified by our analysis in last week of November,” Umar said in a series of tweets.
The minister said decisions and results were highly correlated, adding "In the first week of December hospital admissions peaked, in the second week patients on oxygen/vents peaked, in the third week mortality peaked and then declined."
