The report also said the court asked the government to remove him from the death cell in the prison. The government was also ordered to provide security in the rest house where he would be shifted.
In its order, the court directed the government to implement its order in the next two-three days. However, he would not be given access to phone calls and the internet.

Meanwhile, the government also informed the Supreme Court that the Sindh High Court prohibited the government from issuing any further detention order without prior approvals from the high court.
The acquittal of Omer Sheikh prompted US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to raise the matter with Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
