Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who is on a three-day private trip to Sri Lanka, on Thursday met his Sri Lankan counterpart Gotabaya Rajapksa. The two leaders discussed challenges posed by the Covid-19 in their respective countries.
A statement on Thursday from the Sri Lankan President's Office said Solih, along with his wife, paid a courtesy call on the Sri Lankan President at the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka in Colombo, the capital of the island nation.
They discussed a number of topics, including the commitment of both countries in ensuring the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation over the years ahead.
The two leaders also discussed the measures required to ensure Covid-19 facilities in their respective countries do not become overburdened and highlighted that inoculation is their top priority for a “faster” and “sustainable” recovery.
