Eminent Assamese singer Vitali Das passed away on Wednesday evening. She succumbed to COVID-19 at the Kalapahar COVID-19 hospital in Guwahati.

The popular singer was admitted at the government-run hospital on Apr 15 after she tested COVID-19 positive.

Vitali Das is survived by her husband and a daughter, IBNS said. 

Assam state on Wednesday had reported 1,665 COVID-19 positive cases with a positivity rate of 2.68 percent.
