The New York Police Department (NYPD) has saluted Nessa for becoming the "first Bangladeshi female sergeant" in its force, the Daily Star reported quoting the department’s Facebook post.
"At the age of 21, she immigrated to the US from Bangladesh and juggled 2 jobs while studying English," said NYPD on their verified Facebook page.
