Karachi: Hariram Kishori, Minister of Minority Affairs in Pakistan's Sindh province, has called for action against perpetrators of the attack on a Hindu temple in Tharparkar district's Chachro under the country's blasphemy law.
Officials of the Minority Affairs Ministry said Kishori told Mirpur Khas police officers that the case should be dealt with under the country's blasphemy law, Pakistani media reported.
He condemned the attack on Mata Rani Bhatiyani temple and called for investigating the crime. "Chachro is known for peace and communal harmony. Those who want to disturb it are responsible for the attack on the temple. Such incidents are shocking for the Hindu community," he said.
Meanwhile, a Dawn report citing a statement on Monday from the Senior Superintendent of Police office at Tharparkar said four teenagers have been arrested on charges of theft at a temple in Aliabad, near Chachro.
