Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on 7 March talked peace, partnership and prosperity with India. This is positive, but the study explains China may be following the ‘Kautilyan' template. Kauṭilya, an ancient Indian teacher, philosopher, economist, jurist and royal advisor, authored the ancient political treatise, the ‘Arthashastra’ (an ancient Indian Sanskrit treatise on statecraft, economic policy and military strategy), a text dated to roughly between the 4th century BCE and the 3rd century CE. It also examines China’s deepening footprint in South Asia through the weapon’ - the United Front Work Department (UFWD)
