The Australian Federal Police, in a show of support for its Sri Lanka counterparts in their fight to combat the spread of COVID-19, has donated a consignment of urgently required medical supplies to the Sri Lanka Police on last Wednesday (16).

The donation was presented by the Senior Officer of the Australian Federal Police in Colombo, Detective Superintendent Rob Wilson to Senior Deputy Inspector General of Sri Lanka Police, Lalith Pathinayake, at the Sri Lanka Police Hospital, Colombo 5.

The Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka said in a statement that the provided medical equipment was intended to help Sri Lankan police officers to reduce their risk of contracting the ‘COVID-19’ virus and to continue their duties without interruption.
