COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Sri Lanka, 17 people tested positive on Thursday

Colombo (News 1st): The total number of COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka rose to 1045 after 17 people tested POSITIVE for the virus today.

The Government Information Department quoting the Director-General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said 02 of them were sailors attached to the Sri Lanka Navy and were undergoing quarantine at the Mullaithivu Quarantine Facility.

The remaining 15 people were those who were repatriated from Dubai and were undergoing quarantine at the Giragama Quarantine Facility.

As of today 604 people recovered in full and were discharged from hospital.

The statement from the Government Information Department said 1108 PCR tests were carried out on Wednesday.
