It has been revealed that the former governor of Eastern Province MLAM Hizbullah has received Rs. 3640 million from an individual in Saudi Arabia for the controversial university he established in Batticaloa.

This was revealed when a number of bank accounts belonging to Mr. Hizbullah at the Bank of Ceylon branch in Kollupitiya were inspected Monday by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter attack.

It was also revealed that more than Rs. 313 million had been suspiciously transferred to a Hira Foundation account belonging to MLAM Hizbullah at the relevant bank branch
