Sri Lanka's Defense Secretary General. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne has said Thursday there will be no room for separatism and extremism in the new year since they have taken steps to thwart such attempts.

He also affirmed that “Nobody would be allowed to take up arms”.

“Remand prisoners involved in large-scale drug ring were not released due to the prison's space constraints and the spread of coronavirus in prisons”, General Gunaratne said, elaborating the situation in prisons.
