Over 300 inmates of Sri Lanka prisons infected with COVID-19

The number of COVID-19 infected inmates in Sri Lanka prisons has increased to 329, according to the Commissioner General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya.

According to the Department of Prisons, 80 inmates at Bogambara Prison and 14 female inmates of the Kuruwita Prison have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection today.

Another 44 inmates detained in Ward F of the Boosa Prison have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, said Galle District Regional Epidemiologist Dr. Venura K. Singarachchi.
