Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the project to provide housing to the working people, as well as the non-working people in the plantation areas, will be implemented.

He was addressing a campaign rally at the DKW Cultural Hall in Hatton today (26) to confirm the victory of the candidates of the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) contesting the general election from the Nuwara Eliya District under the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said that all the projects brought by the late Minister Arumugam Thondaman to uplift the infrastructure facilities of the people in the plantation areas are being carried out by his son Jeevan Thondaman.

Former Minister GL Peiris, former Minister of State Nuwara Eliya District SLPP candidate CB Ratnayake and General Secretary of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress Jeevan Thondaman were also present on the occasion.
