Officers of the Customs Narcotics Division have seized Rs. 24.8 million worth stock of drug pills sent to the Katunayake Cargo Clearance Center by air freight.

Additional Director General of Customs Sunil Jayaratne said 4,960 pills of drugs were found concealed in a box of apparel shipped by air cargo.

Although the box had been sent to an address in the Colombo 15 area from the Netherlands, no one had come to pick it up and the officers of the Customs Narcotics Division on suspicion have opened the box and inspected it.
