South Korea donated real-time PCR test kits worth USD 300,000 to Sri Lanka yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said.

The kits were donated at the ministry premises yesterday marking the 43rd anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, an MFA statement said. Ambassador Woonjin Jeong ceremoniously handed the kits to Minister Dinesh Gunawardena at the event.
 
According to the MFA statement, Gunawardena thanked the Republic of Korea for her generous contribution towards Sri Lanka’s efforts to contai COVID-19. He spoke of the traditional friendship between the two countries which he said has flourished over time into a multifaceted partnership with economic cooperation as a key pillar.
