Authorities in Sri Lanka are planning to issue digital vaccination IDs to vaccinated people. The government has been holding discussions with different agencies for the digital ID program.
According to a report in Colombopage, Sri Lanka Minister of Youth and Sports Namal Rajapaksa said the latest technology will be used to provide each individual with a digital vaccination ID. It will contain necessary information on vaccinations including the date, place, time, and type of vaccine issued by the government.
Namal said the idea is the result of discussions between the Ministry of Health and the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA).
Digitalization is also the hope of the next generation to effectively serve the people, he added.(SAM)
