Leader of Sri Lanka’s opposition alliance Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Sajith Premadasa has held parleys with Colombo-based envoys of western countries.
Envoys of Canada, Switzerland, Norway, United States and Deputy High Commissioner of Australia Amanda Jewell discussed various diplomatic matters with Premadasa during the meeting.
Earlier in the day, a delegation of Ambassadors of the European Union countries led by the Ambassador of the European Union to Sri Lanka Denis Chaibi called on Premadasa.
The EU delegation comprised Ambassadors of France, Italy, Germany and Romania, internet newspaper ColomboPage reported.
In a video statement, Premadasa said he discussed several broad issues including people’s problems, democratic rights and the collapse of the economy.
He said the opposition intends to hold several such meetings in the coming days with the Colombo based diplomats.
