Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Thursday instructed to expand vocational and educational opportunities in the fields of Fisheries, Marine and Marine Engineering at Ocean University under the ‘Vision of Prosperity’ national policy of the government.

Mahinda Rajapaksa stated this at a meeting held at Temple Trees regarding the physical and human resource development of the Ocean University.

The Prime Minister instructed to establish and develop the Sri Lanka Ocean University in the Kalametiyana area in the Hambantota District and to take steps to develop its Faculty of Technology in the Mattakkuliya area where the faculty is currently being maintained.
