A meeting between a World Bank delegation and State Minister for Samurdhi, Home Economics, Microfinance, Self-Employment, Business Development and Utilization, State Finance Resources Development Shehan Semasinghe was held at the Finance Ministry recently.
The upliftment of low-income earners in Sri Lanka was discussed at length at the meeting, the Finance Ministry said.
Representatives of the World Bank stated that Sri Lanka has a successful and systematic social security system for the eradication of poverty and the World Bank is ready to provide the necessary assistance to further strengthen it.
