15,411 Active COVID-19 Cases in Afghanistan: Health Ministry

The Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday reported 319 new positive cases of the coronavirus from 678 samples tested over the last 24 hours.
So far, 72,996 samples have been tested in the government’s testing centers and there are 15,411 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the Ministry of Public Health.
In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported 28 new deaths from COVID-19 and 1,520 recoveries.
The number of total cases is now 31,838, the total reported deaths are 774, and total recoveries are 15,651.
The highest count was reported in Kabul with 133, followed by Daikundi (56 cases), Herat (42), Kandahar (10), Balkh (8), Nangarhar (5), Badghis (11), Logar (3), Wardak (2), Badakhshan (6), Laghman (1), Farah (21), Panjshir (1) and Zabul (1).
Also, the ministry reported 24 COVID-19 deaths in Kabul, one in Balkh, two in Nangarhar and one in Wardak.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 511,546 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 10,487,022, according to Johns Hopkins University.
