The Afghan Ministry of Defence said on Wednesday they have cleared some parts of Nara and Nad Ali districts in Helmand province and pushed the Taliban from the cities, as reported by Tolonews.

The Taliban, this month, staged many coordinated offensive actions in Helmand to seize various strategically important district centres around the provincial capital, Lashkargah. Many parts of Nara and Nad Ali district earlier fell to the insurgents.

The offensive in the provincial capital, Lashkargah, two weeks back, which saw the displacement of around 5000-6000 families, finally resulted in the US conducting targeted airstrikes on the Taliban.

The Defence Ministry informed, around hundred Taliban have been killed in clearing ops, while didn’t disclose casualty numbers of Afghan Forces.
