Just a day after an Afghan woman journalist was gunned down on Thursday morning, another journalist and TV presenter, Fardin Amini, died under mysterious conditions in Kabul on Friday, TOLOnews reported.

The details of the death haven’t yet come out but the Kabul Police had confirmed the incident. This is the 5th incident in a month’s time where media personnel has either died or killed in Afghanistan.

Last month, Elias Dayee, a local Afghan journalist from Helmand province had been killed in a magnetic IED blast in Lashkargah district. In the same month, a former presenter of TOLOnews, Yama Siavash, was also killed in a targeted IED car bomb.

Over the last few years, Afghanistan has become one of the most dangerous countries for journalists. Those who cover the conflict in Afghanistan regularly receive death threats.

The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission also said in its report, Dayee received numerous death threats and was asked to stop his reporting just before his death.
