Pakistan can provide assistance to explore opportunities to further enhance the bilateral ties with Sri Lanka, the Pakistan High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Maj. Gen. (retd) Muhammad Saad Khattak has assured.

During his visit to the Central and North Central Provinces of Sri Lanka from 29th June to 2nd July, 2020, the Pakistan High Commissioner has met with Governor of Central Province Lalith U. Gamage in Kandy on Monday (June 29).

During the meeting with the Governor of Central Province, the High Commissioner discussed areas of mutual interest between the two countries, including assistance which can be provided by Pakistan to the Central Province and to explore opportunities to further enhance economic, trade, educational, cultural, tourism and people to people contacts.

The High Commissioner along with Mr. Afzal Marikar, Honorary Consul of Pakistan in Kandy also visited Jinnah Memorial Hall. He met with office bearer of Kandy Muslim Traders Association and also distributed school kits and sports items to children from three schools (Siddhi Lebbe Maha, Rasindew Maha Vidyalaya and Handaganawa Maha Vidyalaya).

During his tour to the provinces, the High Commissioner also visited and distributed school kits and sports items to Rangiri Dambulla National School in Dambulla and Polonnaruwa Gunawardenapura Primary Minneriya School, North Central Province, the High Commission said in a release.

“It was a great opportunity to interact with officials, businessmen and teaching staff of various cities in Central Province during my 4 days out of Colombo. Pakistan will continue to stand with the people of Sri Lanka in all fields in every way possible,” the High Commissioner said in a Twitter post.
