Twelve Taliban, including several commanders, were killed in an airstrike conducted by Afghan Air Force on Wednesday night in Baharak district of Takhar province, said the Ministry of Defence in a statement.

Two days back, the Taliban clashed with Afghan National Police and killed three of them in the same place following which Afghan forces conducted airstrikes.

Soon after the strike, allegations of civilian casualties emerged in the incident. The Ministry of Defence constituted an investigation team to look into the allegation.
