The United States has said that it is ready to provide technical assistance to Sri Lanka’s power projects.

During a meeting with the Power and Energy Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alena B. Teplitz has said that the US will always support Sri Lanka's development.

The envoy has added that the US is ready to provide technical assistance for the country's first LNG power plant as well as other power projects.

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera told the US Ambassador that a program to generate electricity exceeding the total electricity requirement of Sri Lanka by 2023, has already been launched.
