Nepal Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali today held a video conference with chiefs of Nepali missions based in Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Israel and South Africa and took stock of the situation of Nepalis living there and possible impact of novel coronavirus on their employment

Kathmandu: Nepal Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali today held a video conference with chiefs of Nepali missions based in Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Israel and South Africa and took stock of the situation of Nepalis living there and possible impact of novel coronavirus on their employment.

Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Rameshwor Ray Yadav was also present in the video conference.

According to a press release issued by MoFA, the chiefs of Nepali missions abroad briefed Gyawali about recent development of COVID-19 as well as regular and emergency services being provided to Nepali citizens via their concerned offices amid the present crisis. He directed them to report to the Government of Nepal about the status of COVID-19 in their working areas, stay in touch with the concerned government authorities and employers for health, social security and salary of Nepali citizens. The chiefs of Nepali missions have also been told to raise awareness among Nepali people against the global pandemic of coronavirus.
