As the government starts preparation for the arrangement of the Covid-19 vaccines, the civil society has appealed to the government to maintain transparency in the selection, import and prioritisation of the people receiving the vaccination on time.

Adopting transparent measures in the vaccination process will not just help control the pandemic but will also boost the credibility of the government, they said in a statement issued Thursday.

“Controlling the Covid-19 pandemic will only linger if the current mismanagement and irregularities prevail in the vaccination process,” reads their statement. “Procurement of the vaccination and its management requires a huge amount of the state resources, therefore, it needs careful dealing.”
