Pakistan’s Minister of Interior Sheikh Rashid said there was no change in the Kashmir policy of Pakistan’s government, reported The News. The ministry also denied the possibility of Pakistan normalizing its relation with Israel. 

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, Rashid said the government won’t do any compromise on Kashmir. Recently, the Imran Khan government in Pakistan came under harsh criticism from opposition leaders. They have been blaming the PTI government in Pakistan for selling out the Kashmir issue. 

Earlier on 5 August 2019, the Indian government had abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The move rattled Islamabad which  tried to, though unsuccessfully, rally the international community, including Islamic nations, against the Indian move. 

Unable to find any significant audience for its Kashmir cause, the Khan-led PTI government came under the crossfire of its domestic political opponents. In July last year, opposition leader Bilawal Bhutto targeted the Khan government in parliament saying, “The Kashmir issue has been completely compromised. Kashmir is out of our hands now since 5 August 2019. And his (Imran Khan) government has done nothing about it.” 

Another leader PPP leader, Sherry Rehman, had said the Kashmir issue was “done and dusted” now, and she blamed the “incompetent PTI government.”
