Four Indian fishermen whose distressed fishing vessel washed ashore off the northern coast of Sri Lanka were repatriated back to India today, according to Northern fisheries authorities.

They were among the group of 18 Indian fishermen who trespassed into Lankan territorial waters yesterday without an adequate amount of fuel in the midsea.

The Indian Consulate General Office of India in Jaffna took necessary steps to provide fuel for the affected fishermen to return home.
