Amid the renewed wave of COVID-19 infections in the South Asian region, authorities in Oman have decided to ban passengers from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, as per a report in The Daily Star.

The move came after a committee, tasked to handle the COVID-19 crisis in Oman, reviewed the situation in the subcontinent. The order issued by the committee says, people from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, and transiting through them over the last 14 days, are not allowed to come to Oman, starting from 6 pm on April 24, 2021. 

As the region faces a fresh wave of COVID-19 infections, a number of countries are putting restrictions on passengers traveling through the region. Earlier, the United Kingdom had banned flights from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India. 

France, too, has introduced quarantine measures for people coming from India. New Zealand has banned flights from India.
