Pakistan diplomats in India will not join India’s Republic Day ceremony in New Delhi on 26 January, the country’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Monday.

According to a report on The News, Qureshi said India could no more present its “so-called secular” face to the world. The country is headed towards Hindutva, he alleged. The foreign minister also claimed that Kashmiris and minorities in India are not safe anymore.

On earlier occasions also, Qureshi questioned the secular credentials of India. Speaking at a public event, Qureshi asked the new Biden administration to take account of “the changed realities of the region,” pointing his fingers toward India, whom he claimed, are now dominated by Hindutva forces like RSS.

During a recent discussion at a Washington based think tank last week, Moeed Yosuf, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Security, also projected a “changed” image of India.
