New Delhi: US President Donald Trump is likely to visit India between February 24-26. However, the dates are yet to be formally announced, Times of India reported.
This will be Trump's first visit to India as President and the two nations are expected to sign a trade deal that has been in negotiation for months.
This visit, coming on the heels of an impeachment process and virtually days before the grueling election campaign season begins in the US, will be used by both countries to advance their strategic and economic ties that have made strides in recent years. However, though bilateral trade has reported healthy figures, Indian sources reckon a trade agreement will go a long way in dealing with the disagreements that pop up from time to time, the report said.
Meanwhile, Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the new ambassador to the US and he will be taking charge from early February.
