Sri Lanka's Ministry of Health today reaffirmed that there is no scientific evidence that coronavirus is transmitted through well-cooked fish and said closing fish markets is not necessary if they follow health guidelines.

“On the theoretical basis that the Corona Virus can be found on any surface, while preparing fish for storage or cooking, face should not be touched, and utensils used for preparation of fish and the hands must be washed thoroughly,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
