Maldives' central bank to resume some services

Central Bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has planned to resume some of its services that were suspended in response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Male: Central Bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has planned to resume some of its services that were suspended in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to MMA, the bank plans to resume its service of exchanging small denominations of Maldivian Rufiyaa effective from June 16. The service hours for small denominations exchange will be from 0930 to 1400 hrs on every Tuesday and Thursday until end of June. The bank will be open for other services from Monday until Thursday.

MMA said the bank will obtain permission from the police for customers that seek its services when their details are shared with the bank. The bank requested customers to send their name, address, current address, NIC number or passport number, mobile number and the service required to phone number: 7919292 through SMS or Viber message.

MMA urges customers to be punctual and to wear masks when visiting the bank to obtain services.
