You Are Your Own Best Friend

Never let loneliness get you down,

Go climb the wall and play the clown,

Frolic around and dance in the rain,

And see how showers wash away pain.

Who but you could be a better pal,

To you yourself boy or girl,

If you're not happy on your own,

Look at those who gather and moan.

By yourself you are the king,

And like the lark can beautifully sing,

Touch the stars and caress the moon,

And who cares if you're out of tune.

Be your own angelic self,

You need power nor worthless pelf,

You just need truth not clever lies,

Then see how quickly time flies.

You are your own best friend,

From the beginning to the end.
