Three soldiers of Pakistan Army were killed and eight others, including an officer, were injured in an ambush on their convoy near Gichak valley in Balochistan’s Panjgur district on Tuesday, the military said.

Terrorists opened fire on security forces during routine patrolling, military media wing, the ISPR, said in a statement.

“Five injured are critical,” said the Inter-Services Public Relations, adding that the injured have been evacuated to Combine Military Hospital (CMH), Quetta.

The attack came two days after the martyrdom of four soldiers during an Intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's North Waziristan district.

According to ISPR, all four terrorists were shot down by the security forces during the operation which took place in Vezhda Sar, some eight kilometres south-west of Miranshah.

Four soldiers martyred in North Waziristan operation

Last month, two soldiers embraced martyrdom when their patrolling vehicle was targeted through an improvised explosive device (IED) in North Waziristan district.

In May, seven paramilitary troops were martyred in two separate terrorist attacks in Balochistan.

In April, security forces killed two terrorists during an exchange of fire in North Waziristan.
