Families of fishermen in Ambalangoda held a protest on the Galle Road in the Urawatta area in Ambalangoda this morning (8) to demand the authorities to repatriate a group of fishermen imprisoned in Bangladesh.
The protest was organized by the wives and children of fishermen imprisoned in Bangladesh.
Twenty-four fishermen from four multi-day fishing vessels have been imprisoned in Bangladesh for 11 months, protesters said.
