Taiwanese president praises Swara Bhasker’s Bhaag Beanie Bhaag series
Swara Bhasker starrer Bhaag Beanie Bhaag, the latest Netflix original, has found a big fan in the Taiwan president who complimented the web series for “bringing laughter and courage in these challenging times.”

President Tsai Ing-wen, who has been internationally praised for her highly effective COVID-19 response, wished Swara luck for the comedy series.
“Good to know we've got good friends in #India, especially one as creative as you! Thank you for bringing laughter & courage to people around the globe during this challenging time.
“We welcome you to #Taiwan once international travel is safer. Good luck with #BhaagBeanieBhaag!”
Before that Taiwanese Deputy Representative in New Delhi Mumin Chen had tweeted the Bollywood actress.
"Hi Swara, this is Dr Mumin Chen, Deputy from Taiwan Representative Office in India and friend of @theUdayB . Congratulations on the success of your new drama! May I request you to say hello to our president @iingwen and Taiwanese audience? They can watch your drama from Netflix.”
Replying to him, Swara said: “Hi sir! Thank you for ur generous fdbk on #BhaagBeanieBhaag Yes pls do encourage friends in #Taiwan to watch it & my regards to President Tsai @iingwen I have admired her for her conviction & political resolve.. and of course Taiwan’s admirable handling of COVID-19. #rolemodel.”
Soon after the high praise from the Taiwanese leader, Swara was flooded by messages on Twitter by her fans with many congratulating the actress for “going international.” Many praised Taiwan and the Taiwanese people too.
A rom-com, Bhaag Bennie Bhaag was launched recently on Netflix and has drawn appreciation from critics. After Rasbhari and Flesh, Swara comes in a new avatar of a determined young woman who knows her mind and has set her heart to become a professional stand-up comedian at the cost of her marriage and in defiance of social norms.
