Data released by the National Statistical Office, shows the GDP for the second quarter (July-September) of 2020-21 declining by “only” 7.5 per cent compared to the second quarter of the previous year. Although hailed as “good news”, economist say this show the economy is ‘stuck in a quagmire’ because of fall in private consumption in real terms, declining government expenditure, question mark over fresh investments. There are also question mark over data not being robust
