Defense Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne has said that the government would end looming social threats in the same vigor that eradicated terrorism in the country to bring peace and prosperity under the leadership of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

“There is no room for emerging social threats in the face of organized crimes, underworld acts and drug menace to jeopardize the future of our younger generation” he said.

Addressing students of Royal Institute (RI) Colombo he recalled losing of thousands of precious lives of military personnel during the battle to eradicate the three-decade-long ruthless terrorism from the country and said “They all sacrificed their today for your tomorrow.”
