Sri Lankan Gotabaya Rajapaksa says cultural festivals such as Deepavali provides great opportunity to build communal reconciliation and mutual understanding among the people and empower ethnic and religious harmony.

Issuing a message to celebrate Deepavali, the Hindu festival of lights, which is celebrated by Hindus world over today, the President wished all those who celebrate this festival of enlightenment would attain the inner peace they expect.
