A mental health policy will be formulated in Sri Lanka with a strategic framework for the prevention of mental illnesses, healing, rehabilitation and mental health promotion within the community

A mental health policy will be formulated in Sri Lanka with a strategic framework for the prevention of mental illnesses, healing, rehabilitation and mental health promotion within the community.

The Cabinet has approved a proposal submitted by the Minister of Health to formulate the policy.

Under the National Mental Health Policy 2020-2030, strengthening leadership and research activities, provision of extended mental health services, human resource development and empowering the community will be given special focus.
