On the second day of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, Sri Lanka has immunized over 32,000 healthcare and security personnel who are at the frontline battling the pandemic.

According to the Chief Epidemiologist, 32,539 people have been immunized with the Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covishield vaccine, manufactured by Serum Institute of India, Saturday and cumulatively 37,825 people have been vaccinated in the two days of the program which commenced Friday in Colombo.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Army said Immunizing the Army personnel serving at the front lines in the fight against transmission of COVID-19 continues in full swing across 16 island-wide army hospitals.
