Lalith Weeratunga, Senior Advisor to the President, says that Sri Lanka is more likely to receive the three vaccines, Sputnik V, manufactured in Russia, Sinovac, manufactured in China, and UK’s Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, which was discovered by the University of Oxford.

The Senior Adviser to the President has told state-run Dinamina that the World Health Organization (WHO) is providing vaccines to Sri Lanka against the COVID-19 virus within a legal framework.

He said that the responsibility for the vaccine would not be borne by the company that manufactured it and that he was currently looking into all possible alternatives to obtain the vaccine.
