Sri Lanka national inflation rises to 6.4 percent in September 2020

Sri Lanka’s nationwide inflation in September 2020 determined under the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) increased to 6.4 percent from 6.2 percent recorded in August 2020 on a year-on-year basis, the Department of Census and Statistics reported Wednesday

Sri Lanka’s nationwide inflation in September 2020 determined under the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) increased to 6.4 percent from 6.2 percent recorded in August 2020 on a year-on-year basis, the Department of Census and Statistics reported Wednesday.

The NCPI for all items for the month of September 2020 increased to 138.9 from 137.8 in the previous month.

The month-on-month change was contributed by increases of index value of food items by 0.52 percent and non-food items by 0.23 percent respectively.
