Sri Lanka's airports reopen for commercial flights

The Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka informed the public that Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) will resume commercial flight operations from 21st January 2021 ten months after they were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic

The Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka informed the public that Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) will resume commercial flight operations from 21st January 2021 ten months after they were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first flight after reopening the airport for commercial flights arrived at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport at 7.40 am today (21).

Oman Airlines flight from Muscat, Oman with 50 Sri Lankan passengers arrived first after the airport resumed commercial operations. All passengers arrived were directed to quarantine.
