Sri Lanka’s coronavirus cases surpassed 2000, three months since the virus started spreading in the country with 10 more new cases reported last night

Colombo: Sri Lanka’s coronavirus cases surpassed 2000, three months since the virus started spreading in the country with 10 more new cases reported last night.

According to the health ministry, the coronavirus started spreading in the country on March 11 and has since infected 2001 among which 11 had died.

Navy personnel have accounted for a majority of the case with 901 being affected, while 665 patients have been of Sri Lankans who returned from overseas.
